When you sell online, your eCommerce website is the heartbeat of your business. Many subtle things make the difference between success and failure.
- eCommerce websites need to have a functional design,
- be easy to use, and be easy to navigate.
- Present your product details, pricing, and images in an easy-to-read format
- Be easy for users to find what they are looking for.
- Cross-sell,
- Up-sell
Dominating your eCommerce niche is not easy, and it is getting harder every day as Amazon continues to expand its reach and technology. Therefore, a great eCommerce design is part of your overall marketing strategy.

eCommerce Website Pricing Guidelines
We will be able to give you a firm price after discussing your project with you. Here are some pricing guidelines to help you plan.
Generally, a WooCommerce website that sells products with simple options can be built for $3.5-$35k. We have created dozens of great WooCommerce sites for under $10,000.
Shopify is the defacto eCommerce platform if you are looking for a robust e-commerce system with no headaches. They manage everything from the servers to the security updates. A custom Shopify store ranges from 10k-120k (mostly on the very low end)
Magento is a more complicated platform. Therefore, you can expect to pay more. Magento projects typically start at $15,000. We have done nice Magento websites for less, but if your budget is under 20k, you should consider a less demanding platform.

eCommerce Technology
There are several great platforms for selling online. Determining which platform is right for you is based on your specific needs. We can create winning designs for any platform.
Here are the key factors for picking an eCommerce platform
- The complexity of your products. For instance, selling printing online is complicated; there are several options per product that change the price and the shipping cost. Paper weight, paper type, finished size, rounded corners, quantity. (for folded brochures, the options keep expanding). We had to build custom software for our current printing client in Frisco, TX. The existing platforms available within our client's budget could not handle the complexity of selling printing online.
- The sophistication of your marketing. The way you want to use your data to market to your clients while they shop on your website and after they leave your site is something you need to consider.
- The amount of control you want over your website. If you use an online Software-as-a-Service eCommerce platform like Shopify, you typically give up flexibility and control but gain ease of use.
These are just a few of the items you need to consider before you embark on your e-commerce design & development project. We have built completely custom eCommerce stores, and we have implemented Shopify, Magento, and WooCommerce.

eCommerce Shopping Cart Software We Use
Magento: Seota has built a number of successful Magento design and development projects in the past. Magento is a little more resource intensive and requires a higher level of expertise. We don't often recommend Magento to our small business clients. We have designed online stores to sell Gifts and Jewelry in Magento, Our most recent Magento eCommerce project integrates into a database of 73,000 auto parts via API. The parts are searchable by automotive make, model, and year. The product data comes from the distributor Turn14 and we then match the part numbers back to a comprehensive list of automobiles.
WooCommerce: WooCommerce is very popular with WordPress customers and small business eCommerce shops. We have Woo-based businesses with 100s of products and high 6-figure sales. WooCommerce may be the right answer for your small business eCommerce design needs. We have WooCommerce customers that sell SkinCare, Pool Supplies, and Apparel. Our most recent WooCommerce design project was for Freedom Hot Sauce. A veteran owned business based in Frisco, TX.
Custom eCommerce development: our web developers build custom eCommerce applications when the client's needs don't neatly fit into one of the off-the-shelf solutions. Our last custom eCommerce build was for Review Fire which handles complicated subscription payments. We also designed and built a custom solution for a printing client. Printing is one of the most complicated products to sell online and most of prefab systems are expensive and clunky. We have built custom online stores for Silver Jewelry, Men's Wedding Rings, Cowboy Boots, Printing, Software, and Home Goods.
OpenCart: We currently manage four websites that we designed and built in OpenCart. We have been using OpenCart as an eCommerce platform for 8 years, so we have the experience to help you decide if it is the right platform for your project. We have built online stores to sell Apparel, Footwear, and Skincare on OpenCart eCommerce Platform. We no longer develop websites in Opencart.
